At 19 years old, I loved God but I needed direction. Through fasting and praying, I believe God gave me a vision to build a Christian Hip Hop ("CHH") radio station that would not only resemble a TV station, but that it would also be online and used to entertain, educate and evangelize. God gave me the concept in 1997 when the idea of "internet radio" was fairly new, but it wasn't until 2017 that I felt the Lord's call to actually launch the station. During that time, the ​

After 3 years, GoBU has become a digital platform that streams the best CHH & R&B that there is to offer. Our audience connects with us via our downloadable app, GoBU.tv, and in Houston's Greater Third Ward where we've started a movement of creatives promoting purpose with a kingdom perspective.

Holy Spirit encouraged me as He did Abraham, "Go and I will show you, and I will make you." This is from where our name GoBU derives.

GoBU’s mission is to bring transformative Hip Hop content, media art education and the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to a generation that is immersed in Hip Hop culture. Our vision is massive and multi-faceted, and although Houston's Historical Third Ward is our current mission field; we plan on taking what God does through us there to other under-resourced areas of our city.
GoBU takes the hottest cultural commodity, Hip Hop, and uses it to: plant seeds of the gospel reaches the urban youth in Houston, invest in local artists to use their voice, and art to share the gospel of the Kingdom and to multiply the impact of the Hip Hop culture for the glory of the Kingdom of God in our City.
